In November of 2009, Dhani Harrison stated that was in the process of assisting Harmonix on Rock Band 3 and that they were working on making the instruments 'more real' so that players will learn how to play an actual instrument while playing the game. The band's all here. Rock Band 3 adds support for three vocal parts per song, first introduced in The Beatles: Rock Band and later. This is probably one of my all time favorite A7X songs. Thanks to nicholasp248 for allowing me to record this for him. All Contributors to this chart: Original G/B/D by Furiouss Vocals by Jdcow.

Rock Band 3 is a music video game, and the third main game in the Rock Band series. Harmonix Music Systems is the primary developer for the game, with additional development by Backbone Entertainment on the Wii and DS versions. The game is published and distributed by MTV Games and Electronic Arts, respectively. As with previous games in the series, Rock Band 3 allows players to simulate the playing of rock music and other genres using special instrument controllers mimicking lead and bass guitar, drums, and vocals. Rock Band 3 expands upon previous games by including three-part vocal harmonies—previously used in The Beatles: Rock Band and Green Day: Rock Band—and support for a keyboard instrument, a MIDI-compatible 25-key unit.

Emulation Information
Online Play
Official servers are still up, once Dolphin is set up for online play on official servers. A original NAND dump is needed, mainly for serial number and already online activated profile. Even though all online functionalities works (playing, leaderboards, score posting, etc) the music store doesn't, believed to be due to some error with the Wii Shop Channel.
Menu Framerate/Audio Issues
The Main Menu for the game can lag and have audio stutter even when Dolphin is running full-speed. This is normal, and actually happens on console as well.
Microphone Input
Microphone reported to work as of Dolphin 5.0-2428 with USB Passthrough support via USBdk and white-listing Rock Band Logitech USB microphone in Dolphin Configuration.
Problems
Microphone Crashes
Dolphin often crashes when running the game with the microphone added to the list. Fixed with libusbK as of 5.0-10270 and 5.0-10344.
Configuration
No configuration changes are known to affect compatibility for this title.

r6569 | Windows 7 | AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.7GHz | ATI Radeon HD 5770 | Menu laggy, fwrite errors in menu, in-game (solo)=great! Rock Band 3 (Wii) on Dolphin Emulator (720p)
r6591 | Windows 7 | AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.7GHz | ATI Radeon HD 5770 | Great! Menu is laggy..
r7330 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i3-530 @ 3.2GHz | NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ | Menu renders at 7-10FPS, massive audio and video lag makes it difficult to calibrate, in game FPS is usually 35-40. It's playable but at times the lag makes controller presses happen far later than the physical button is hit..practice is smooth though. | TehMinja1134 |
r7419 | Windows 7 | Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 2.66GHz | ATI Radeon HD 3870 | Starting menu lags a lot. Main menu renders quite faster (~20FPS). Playing a song is great (60FPS), sometimes it drops to 55-57FPS but I don't even notice it. | KrlzGmz |
r7461 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i3-540 @ 3.06GHz | ATI Radeon HD 5670 | Playable. Freezes at strap screen, but just press A or 2 when it freezes and it works fine. Menu goes under 10FPS, songs are 55-60FPS (but luckily this game isn't picky about lag and syncs the music anyway). Using wired guitar requires 167ms calibration. Controller works fine on all difficulties. Black band members. DO NOT enable 'Limit by FPS'! | Fishaman P |
r7689 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i3-2100 @ 3.1GHz | NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ | Great! Black band members. Menu is laggy.. | djlastnight |
3.0-201 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i5-2500K @ 4.6GHz | ATI Radeon HD 6950 | Black band members, laggy menu, stuttering gameplay (despite enabling 'limit by FPS'). Game had trouble picking up quick successive notes on both the GH World Tour guitar and drumset. Unplayable for difficulties hard and expert. Extreme audio and video calibration needed.
4.0 | Windows 8.1 | AMD FX-8320 | AMD Radeon HD 7770 | Black band members, major slowdown on menu, full speed while playing songs | Zcair |
4.0.1 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i5-3570K @ 4.2GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 | Black band members, slow menu, stuttering gameplay with 'limit by FPS'. Needed to redo calibration multiple times to become playable for hard and expert. It is hard to hit successive notes, but still playable on expert. | Darkinferno3 |
4.0.2 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i5-3570K | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti | Black band members, audio emulation is very demanding (LLE), fine 60FPS | Zcair |
4.0-9392 | Windows 10 | AMD FX-9590 @ 4.7GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 x2 | DX12 gives colored band members, otherwise black members. Inconsistent speed in the menus; main menu is particularly slow, between 20-45FPS, music library is between 50-60FPS and in-game while playing a song is solid 60FPS. Game is really playable outside of the menus lags, which isn't a big deal. | Alternity |
5.0-1023 | Windows 10 | Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.4GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 | Unable to reproduce black band members on OpenGL, D3D11 or Vulkan. Real USB Instruments (drums, pro guitar) confirmed to work. | JMC4789 |
5.0-5636 | Windows 10 | AMD FX8320E @ 3.5GHz | AMD RX 560 | No black members using Vulkan renderer, the menu is laggy as always but in-game it is stable 60FPS, Real wii guitar works. | Panchovix |
5.0-8244 | Windows 10 | Intel Celeron G1820 @ 2.70GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB | Using USBDk is still crashing Dolphin, but at least it's random times. May or may not work at all with microphones. Intro and main menu so very sluggish (>=15FPS), but gameplay runs at 60FPS. | clorophilla |

The following songs were already released before, but had some planned on-disc update which was cut:DammitDon't Stop Believin'Shining StarsThe Final Countdown'Dammit' eventually got its Pro Guitar/Bass upgrade. A brief section of the Keys audio that would normally never be heard isolated in the DLC version.Test Songs InfoAlso among the songs list are testing songs used to test out features in the game. These songs also have hidden song info.File: budgettestName: HUD Budget TestArtist: Huddy HudbourneGenre: MetalYear Released: 1980Album: Blizzard of OzzFile: invalidversiontestArtist: T. However, the version of the song playable in the game does not have a Big Rock Ending on any instruments. The test song 'runs16s' has its audio and midi in working condition. It is a mess of random notes on all instruments, 'Crazy Train's lyrics, and higher quality audio for Roundabout on the Wii.
It is in ui/framerate.Beatmatch Test 2Also unused in the songs folder is a test song simply called beatmatchtest2. Only the audio file exists. It appears to be a short, original instrumental song to test beat matching.beatmatchtest2.bik.
This mix is simply: Stereo Drums, Stereo Bass, Stereo Guitar. This test song also mixes the count-in onto the drum track.Unused SoundsThe midiinstruments folder in the root of the game directory goes entirely unused. Inside midiinstruments/chamberlin is a single descriptions.txt file which describes the files relating to chamberlin. The purpose of this file is simply to document the samples.Neither the game nor milo care about this file. Consider this a 'readme' file for the instrument.ViolinsG80, 37286ViolinsC234, 36, 395245, 24793ViolinsG252, 27213ViolinsC379, 32878ViolinsG3816, 78592ViolinsC464, 16304ViolinsG690,91, 12737641, 78336These strange violin references refer to sounds in the midiinstruments/chamberlin/gen/chamberlin.milowiiThe samples appear to be a violin sound played at different pitches.violinscx2uc.wavwii. Say it Ain't Clean/DistThough this sample exists in Rock Band 2, this is only referenced in sfx/gen/keysfx.milowii as a.cue file. It has seemingly no relation to keysfx, files which appear to control character animations.RB3TempIn the songs folder, there is a folder for rb3temp, a placeholder song folder with no music inside. The cover art for this 'song' happens to be the cover for Foo Fighters' album 'The Colour and The Shape'.Removed Accomplishments/GoalsThe game tracks your goals or achievements. The Wii version had goals removed for various reasons.
One such accomplishment is the hard drive filler. The icon is still at its larger 128x128 size as opposed to the Wii's 64x64 size for accomplishments. The accomplishment 'Just Another Band Out of Boston' also has an alternate icon which isn't normally used. The version that is used appears twice though, due to a typo.Don't Mess AroundSince the song 'Black Magic Woman' was going to be an on-disc song, there is still description data for the Pro Drum achievement associated with it. Called 'Don't Mess Around', if the player got 4 stars or more on the song, the achievement would be unlocked. Since the song was released as DLC later on, this achievement can't be unlocked.Feelin' AlrightThe song 'Feelin' Alright', by Traffic, was also a scrapped on-disc song. It has a Keys achievement associated with it. If the player hit 90% of the notes on Keys, the achievement would be unlocked.
It is simply called 'Feelin' Alright'O.M.G Full Combo! This achievement also exists in name only. It would have been awarded if the player hit 100% of the notes in a song on Expert without breaking streak. There is no graphic or unlock condition associated with this achievement and it can never be obtained.Guitar GoalsGuitar SolosThere exist several achievements relating to percentage of notes hit and difficulties for Guitar Solos. None of these can be unlocked in the game.Hammer-Ons/Pull-Offs GoalsHammer it Home is one of the many hopo-related removed goals. For this achievement, the player is to hit all the hammer-ons/pull-offs without strumming on an unknown list of songs.Like the guitar solos, there also exist various similar goals for HOPOs on all difficulties and various percentages which cannot be obtained.Another achievement, named Hammer Time, could have been unlocked by simply hitting one HOPO without strumming.Open StrummerPossibly relating to Pro Guitar, the achievement Open Strummer was also removed. The player had to hit all the open strums in a song to unlock it.Form Follows FunctionThis achievement would have been unlocked by going into overdrive and not missing a single note while on Guitar.Misnamed AccomplishmentsOn the Wii version, the following graphic files exist.accprokeysrb3shiftmasterkeep.pngwiiaccprokeysrb3shiftmaster-copykeep.pngwiiThe first file is the lever icon and is actually used for the shiftmaster accomplishment.
The -copy file was likely left over and contains the following graphic:This icon seems to be from an old series of accomplishments not present in the game anymore. The style of icon is similar to the 'number of stars' accomplishments which are unlocked normally in the game. This icon suggests it would be awarded by percentage of notes hit on a song.Streak is also awarded for Keys. The following files exist for 100, 350, and 500 streak respectively.acckeystreakkeep.pngwiiacckeystreakmediumkeep.pngwiiacckeystreaklongkeep.pngwiiThese are the normal accomplishments which carry over to Pro Keys. There is also an unused file called acckeystreammediumkeep.pngwii which is likely a typo but also suggests a different structure to the streak accomplishments since it uses the 100-streak icon instead of 350 as the properly-named file reads. The graphic for the Band Elitist DLC accomplishment appears twice due to a spelling error. It appears once as accbanddlcelitistkeep.pngwii and again as accbanddlcetilistkeep.pngwii.The same happens for accdlcappelemoimoncherikeep.pngwii which also appears as accdlcapplemoimoncherikeep.pngwii.Also for accdlcrobbinbankswithasixgunkeep.pngwii which also appears as accdlcrobbinbankswithaxisgunkeep.pngwii.Wii Speak SupportOn the disc, uiglobalgen contains files relating to Wii Speak support.
However, when the game released, support for the hardware had disappeared and the feature was cut.Dummy FileIn the wiikeyboard folder, a file called zzzzzzz.zzz can be found. It contains the following message. This is a dummy file to work around a bug in the disk emulator softwarein which it sometimes doesn't output the last 32K of the disk partitiondata.
This file needs to be exactly 32K in sizeThis file should be removed once the bug is fixed. Excluded Post-process EffectsInside the dotdot/dotdot/system/run/band/gen/bandobjects.dtb file, excluded Post-processing effects are defined.#define EXCLUDEDSONGPOSTPROCS ((alldeploy.ppfailed.ppfailing.ppintrocontrastflame.ppintrocontrastgrey.ppintrocontrastice.ppintroposterizea.ppintrotest.ppoverrideblender.ppplaceholder.ppsavior.ppworld.pp))They're set to not be used in milo or midi venues in songs. If the list is bypassed, some effects still function. The intro effects could have possibly been intended to be used, since most of them function. Some of the other effects might only be used in certain cases like when failing or rescuing a player. File: Worstcase.mid (280 KB) There is an unused song on the Xbox 360 version on a folder called 'framerate' and all files are called 'worstcase.'
Valkyria chronicles remastered trophy guide. The song is 'The Who - Behind Blue Eyes.' The song has multitracks on all parts, but the.mid file is just a mess of random notes on every instrument except for vocals, which is ripped entirely from Run to the Hills. The song was originally released as DLC for the first Rock Band a few years prior to Rock Band 3's release. The files also exist on the disc for the original Rock Band, along with a cover of the song by WaveGroup, the company responsible for the covers of songs on the early Guitar Hero games. This suggests it was also going to be a cover originally, rather than the master that was later used. The seriesPlayStation 3Xbox 360Wii.PlayStation Portable.
