Posted November 26, 2014Kirby, up tilt.Kirby kicks up his foot from behind him. His foot extend from behind him a good distance to over his head, and even a small distance in front of him. Does 5%, the hit box in front of kirby only does 4%.Because of kirbys small body and big feet the hitbox on this move is great for stuffing both aerial and grounded approaches, as long as kirbys back is turned to the opponent. The start up is very fast and the cooldown is very low. This makes it fairly difficult to punish on shield or on whiff, though both are possible. It doesnt do much damage, but that is mitigated by the fact that it is a very strong combo tool that can combo into itself on any character multiple times at 0. Whenever you choose to end your up air chains, you can either combo it into up smash, or any of his aerials outside of down air.
An up tilt at 0 can easily turn into 30-40 percent guaranteed on practically everyone. From 40 until roughly 80, up tilt will continue to combo into at least one up air.If the landing hitbox from Kirby's down air hits the opponent behind you, up tilt is also guaranteed.Due to the nature of this move hitting primarily behind Kirby it is diffcult to use this move effectively, since you will have to physically turn around in order to make use of it in most situations. Sometimes you will be able to duck certain attacks (like ZSS dash attack) and uptilt to punish the whiff after their move makes them switch sides. However learning to quickly turn around and uptilt in responce to certain approaches will have great, noticible effects on your Kirby game. Posted November 25, 2014Kirby squishes his puffball body very low to the ground and kicks his foot out in an arcing motion. Does 6%This move is a very important part of kirbys gameplan for a few different reasons. Its fairly quick (frame 6?) both to start and end and has solid range, which makes it his safest move on block.
Aside from nikita edgeguarding and up-smash edgetrapping there is no single move snake´s kit that is even near to be called opressive. Playing around snakes grenades is actually much more easier than playing around links´, rob´s, villager´s, etc zoning as their projectiles have a constant hitbox that cause a decent amount of hitstun/dmg. Jan 15, 2020 Rekzius recently released another video for his hitbox explanation series. Unsurprisingly, there were many that were curious about Snake's moveset. Although many might think that up tilt's.
It also shrinks his hitbox MASSIVELY, allowing him to duck under a multitude of moves. Including but not limited to, ZSS's dash attack, Lil Mac's forward tilt, and Ganons f smash (when not tilted downwards). The move also has a roughly 40% chance of tripping your opponent when it hits them, allowing for more followupsDown tilt is one of kirbys best combo filler moves because of the low knockback and trip chance.
It also does more damage than up tilt. At low/mid percents it can combo into itself one or maybe 2 additional times. This is useful when looking for the trip, because it almost guarantees that youll get it allowing you to rack much more damage.

This move is less effective vs light characters and bettter against heavy charactersDown tilt is best used:After down air, when the landing hitbox puts the opponent in front of you. After Jab 1,2, to squeeze more damage out of your combos,After a whiffed fair as a bait.to low profile and counter certain movesAfter a missed tech. If you hit an opponent with a weak move like this right after they hit the ground missing a tech, it puts the opponent into a forced get up state, that will allow you to hit them with a slightly charged hammer/forward smash/up smash. After down tilt you can:Down tilt again depending on spacing and%Forward tilt is guaranteedForward Smash if you get the trip.Dash Grab. This is guaranteed if you get the trip, but still very hard to avoid if you dont.
