This year, in honor of the 35th anniversary of “The Goonies,” and are offering screenings of the movie in seven cities around Oregon, in March and April. The screenings, which will happen in Astoria, Coos Bay, Salem, La Grande, Baker City, Bend and Eugene, support the located in Astoria, and the “Goonies Day” event in Astoria, coming up this year June 4-7.“The Goonies” tells the story of a group of kids from Astoria’s “Goon Docks” neighborhood, who go on a treasure hunt in an effort to stop their homes from being destroyed by a money-hungry development company. The search takes them into caves along the northern Oregon coastline, but the hunt for a pirate’s hidden riches also puts the kids in danger.
